Week 9

Congratulations to Jacob C. of Pack 105 who won the seat on the Sharks’ players bench during the game on January 22, 2011 at 7 PM.

Thank you to these scouts that submitted filled order sheets this week – the last week of the prize give-away popcorn period. The order sheets received this week represent $23,302 in sales and an average of $583 in sales per scout… equal to $58.30 toward summer camp for each scout. A fantastic last hurrah of this campaign!

To everyone who sold popcorn – regardless of whether you filled an order page or more or just a few lines of sales – your effort is appreciated! This funding that you have personally earned supports the Scouting program at many different levels – including maintaining Treasure Valley.

This is the last week for the $25 gift card drawing. Next week, we will draw for the seat on the Sharks Players Bench! Every scout that enters a complete order sheet at any time during the popcorn product sale is eligible for this prize. The other three seats on the bench will go to the top seller in each of our three districts.

A grab bag of items – I’m putting scout’s names on things as the order forms come in. The prizes are the same selection that we’ve been working with – Legos to camping gear to footballs, etc.

Week 7

We are already in Week 7 of the Trail’s End Popcorn Product Sale! We’re coming around the home stretch and you and your Scouts are doing a great job. Keep up the good work because the dividends to your Scouts are tremendous. Last week the Scouts that submitted filled order sheets earned an average of $65 per Scout toward one week of summer camp at Treasure Valley. This is in addition to the commission earned which funds program and supplies, prizes and Trail’s End incentives.

Week 7 prizes: This week we have a variety of camping equipment that will be awarded to each Scout as the filled order sheets come in. You may pick up your Scout’s prize any time during the week and he will be entered into the drawing on Friday as well.

Week 5

This week is “Grab Bag” week. I assembled an array of prizes for scouts to choose from a grab bag until all prizes are awarded. The selection of items is similar to those offered last week with some pretty nifty ones thrown in. If the scout can’t make it to the office to choose his prize, then I ask the popcorn kernel or other representative to come by and retrieve it. They are available now for this week so anyone who has already submitted a filled-order-sheet may come by to choose from his reward.

We will have the drawing for $25 gift card on Friday afternoon and I will announce the winner of that drawing then. I will then pull prizes for each of the scouts and put them aside for you to pick up.

We still have prizes here from two weeks ago. Please make every effort to get the prizes to your kids – use the incentives to maintain motivation. They’re here for you to use and the kids to enjoy.

We have limited supplies of some prizes so there will be a mix of prizes based on the number of scouts that participate each week. Scouts can not choose their prize from those offered each week but will be given one of the prizes described.

Information about Weekly Prizes:

Every scout (first name and last initial only) that submits a filled sheet will be listed on this page and we will announce via email who has received what prize(s) each week – it is up to you to notify the scout and to make sure he gets his prize. If it is small, we'll put it in your unit folder – if larger, we’ll have to figure out how to get it to the scout. It is important that you take advantage of these prizes to get your kids excited – hand weekly prizes out at pack or troop meetings so that all scouts can see what they can win by selling popcorn… in addition to the Trail’s End prizes and gift cards identified in the order form.

Every scout that submits a filled order sheet each week by 1 p.m. on Friday will receive a special prize in addition to:

1) Participating in a weekly drawing for a $25 gift card;

2) Participating in a drawing for a "big ticket" item - a prize of which we have limited stock;

3) And is entered in the grand prize drawing* that will take place at the end of the popcorn product sale (more info to come).

*The more sheets a scout fills, the more entries he will have in the grand prize drawing (one entry per sheet).

If a scout submits more than one filled sheet in a week, he will receive bonus prizes that fall into the "big ticket" category.

Each week the prizes will be announced on Monday so you can share that information with your pack or troop. Please encourage your scouts to turn in their filled order sheets as they are completed rather than holding onto a bunch of them to the end. There is no benefit to the scout to hold back on passing his order sheets into council.

Week One: Scouts must submit their completed order form by 1 pm on Sept. 10 for these prizes.

This week’s cub scout prize is the Bear Archery 1st Shot Bow Set; the boy scout prize is the Pure Fishing Rod and Reel.
